A message of a young girl (orphan from Muyisa Primary school). Her mother died after being violated by more than 10 persons. There was no medical center in the neighbouring.
“I am pleading for women, our mothers who have no power to fight violators. I ask other women who are living in peaceful countries to stand up and help us against violence, war, insecurity. The situation is pityful here in the villages located in the forest surrounding the Tayna Gorilla Reserve : 12000 violated women, 4000 widows and 17000 widowers. Please, bring us peace, good hospitals, clean water, good food, good lodging, good schools, good clothes and modern agriculture”.

Ages of these children range from a few who are 16 years old down to a few at 11 months old.  The largest age groups seem to be from 6 or 7 to 10 or 11 years old.

These children have suffered through war, seen things no one should see, know hunger, fear and pain.

Pierre and the people at Tayna have decided to help them.  But they need help.

Pierre, the father of six, who owns niethier a home nor a car, knew that if these children were to have a future they must have an education.  He spent all of his $20,000 Conservation Award, building the Muyisa Primary School where the children are taught the DRC Cirriuculum and English.

These children are getting an education but need a home.  Many sleep in neighboring villages, the schoolhouse, with other families while many are on their own, they have no home.  Some sleep in the jungle.

We need funding and help to feed these children as well as provide them medical care, clothing, shelter, beds and all the things growing children need.
